Accessibility Statement

A scientific institution that cannot be read is not open. YODA is built so that anyone, on any device, with any assistive technology, can participate.

01

Our commitment

YODA aims to meet or exceed Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across every public page. Accessibility is treated as a build-quality requirement, not a remediation project.

02

What we do

  • WCAG 2.2 AA — colour contrast, focus visibility, and semantic structure across the platform.
  • Responsive design — layouts adapt from 360 px handhelds to 4K reading environments.
  • Keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable and operable without a pointer.
  • Readable typography — editorial line-length, generous leading, and a preference for calm rhythm.
  • Inclusive access — captions on video, alt text on figures, transcripts for audio.
03

Assistive technology

The platform is tested with recent versions of VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS on evergreen browsers. Please report issues you encounter — we treat them as bugs, not requests.

04

Known limitations

Some third-party embeds (external video players, interactive figures from partner institutions) may not yet meet our internal bar. We flag these and work with providers to close the gap.

05

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email accessibility@yoda.academy. We respond within five working days and prioritise fixes by severity.
