YODA is a scientific institution. We collect only the information required to run the Academy, verify professional identity, and advance open research. We do not sell personal data. We do not profile users for advertising. Ever.

Information we collect
- —Account data — name, email, institution, role, ORCID (optional).
- —Professional data — specialty, publications, and affiliations you choose to share.
- —Usage data — pages viewed and courses completed, used to improve the platform.
- —Technical data — device, browser, and coarse geolocation for security and diagnostics.

How we use it
- —Deliver the Academy, publications, and community features you request.
- —Verify academic and clinical identity for members, faculty, and researchers.
- —Communicate operational updates, certificates, and (opt-in) scientific dispatches.
- —Improve platform reliability, safety, and accessibility.

Legal bases
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (running your account), legitimate interest (platform integrity and scientific mission), consent (marketing dispatches, optional analytics), and legal obligation (fiscal and regulatory record-keeping).

Retention
Account data is retained for the life of the account plus 24 months. Course completion records are retained for 10 years to support lifelong certification. De-identified research data is retained indefinitely.

Your rights
- —Access, correct, or export your personal data at any time.
- —Request erasure, subject to legal record-keeping obligations.
- —Withdraw consent for optional processing without affecting service access.
- —Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
