Governance is the quiet infrastructure of a scientific institution. These are the bodies that steward YODA — how they are composed, what they do, and how often they meet.

How YODA is governed

YODA is a non-profit scientific association. Authority is distributed across four standing bodies with clear remits and public terms of reference. Members are appointed for renewable terms and required to disclose conflicts of interest annually.

Board of Directors

Strategic direction, fiduciary oversight, and appointment of committee chairs.

Scientific Advisory Board

Independent scientific counsel on research priorities and academic standards.

Reviews research protocols, conduct reports, and conflict-of-interest disclosures.

Editorial standards for publications, courses, and the YODA dispatch.

Terms of reference

Each body publishes its terms of reference, composition, and meeting cadence. Minutes of substantive decisions are shared with the membership.

Independence

The Ethics and Editorial Committees operate independently of the Board on matters within their remit. Their decisions are not overridden by executive leadership.

Accountability

An annual governance report is published to the Trust Center, covering appointments, disclosures, decisions of consequence, and financial summary.
