Our shared values

We treat one another with respect regardless of nationality, gender, language, seniority, or background. Disagreement is welcome; disrespect is not. Rigor and kindness are not in tension — they are the same discipline.

02

For members

  • Engage in good faith. Cite sources. Correct yourself in public when you're wrong.
  • Protect patient confidentiality. Never share identifiable clinical material.
  • Attribute the work of others — including trainees, nurses, and non-authors.
03

For faculty

  • Teach at the level of the learner in front of you, not the level of the room you're most proud of.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest, honoraria, and industry relationships.
  • Mentor across borders and career stages, not only within your institution.
04

For researchers

  • Pre-register studies where possible. Publish negative results.
  • Share data, code, and protocols to the fullest extent permitted by ethics approvals.
  • Give credit where a contribution changed the science, whatever the author position.
05

For students and trainees

  • Ask questions freely. There is no naive question in critical care.
  • Protect your learning time. Rest is a scientific asset.
06

For industry partners

  • Support science, not marketing. Do not condition support on outcomes.
  • Respect the editorial independence of YODA content and faculty.
  • Declare all relationships publicly and in every material produced with us.
07

Enforcement

Reports may be sent in confidence to conduct@yoda.academy. They are reviewed by the Ethics Committee. Consequences range from private warning to permanent exclusion, proportionate to the harm caused.
